Jesus said, Follow Me
We should follow no man, no man who claims to follow Jesus
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5
Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
Jesus told many to follow Him,
Some did and some did not
Today, some follow a Pope or a Preacher or a Doctrine of man’s teachings
Jesus said, Follow Me and He said it over and over again
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am,
there shall also My servant be:
if any man serve Me, him will My Father honour. John 12:26
We are admonished to take up our crosses and follow Jesus:
And when He had called the people unto Him with his disciples also,
He said unto them, Whosoever will come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. Mark 8:34
If we do not take up our crosses and follow Jesus,
we are not worthy of Him
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.

This happened with the Rich Young Ruler
He chose not to follow Jesus after an invitation
Who could do that?
Sorry to say, I suspect many do just that, refuse God’s invitation
And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master,
what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good?
none is good, save one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill,
Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Now when Jesus heard these things, He said unto him,
Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast,
and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:
and come, follow Me.
And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, He said,
How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye,
than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? And He said,
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
Luke 18:18-27
The more you know Jesus, the more you want to give Him yourself, your life
And, this is the promise to those who do give up their lives to follow Him:
Then answered Peter and said unto Him,
Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed Thee;
what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed Me,
in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory,
ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father,
or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My name’s sake,
shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
Matthew 19:27-29
