Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:
the devils also believe, and tremble. James 2:19
It’s not enough to believe
There is a teaching prevalent in the church
That is that once you have believed and confessed that belief,
you are in a safe place regarding Salvation
That is not necessarily the case
We all need to know Jesus, to hear from Him, to commune with Him
He will require certain things of you
He expects obedience
If ye love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15
Listening to and following His Holy Spirit is a large part of what He asks of us
Following Jesus is hard
it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination
If they hated Me, they will hate you…
If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. John 15:18
Our cross is sometimes very heavy and almost too much to bear
It is meant to be
If we forget Jesus, we will get caught up in the world
We need to put our hand to the plough and not look back
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
There is no other way to follow the Lord but wholeheartedly
It’s a choice
And once we make that choice to follow Him, He will help us all the way
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so,
he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:
but whosoever shall do and teach them,
the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19
