Our walks with Jesus are individual.
Your walk is different than the other guy
and his walk is different than yours.
Many people consider their walk to be quite simple:
Go to church, say a few prayers, maybe read the bible from time to time,
or maybe a little more than that,
you pray more than most and read your bible almost every day or every day.
Maybe you do good deeds, like you give to the poor and pay your tithes.
Whatever the case, there is no group follow of Christ.
Each person has their individual walk with Christ.
Each person has their individual relationship with Christ.
No two are the same.
God is God.
Jesus will say to many, I never knew you, Depart from Me!
He will say that to many.
Many think they are following Christ.
The herd mentality.
Each of us needs to seek Christ ourselves, individually,
we cannot follow others following Jesus. That won’t work.
If any man serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am,
there shall also My servant be: if any man serve Me,
him will My Father honour. John 12:26
Where is Jesus in your life?
What is He asking of you?
What is He teaching you?
What are His plans for you?
What does He tell you?
What does He want you to do?
How much does He want you to pray each day?
What is He asking of you in every circumstance?
Who does He want you to reach out to?
Jesus walks with each of us,
and each of our walks are different than anyone else.
There is no cookie-cutter way to be, no answers that work for everyone.
While Jesus does want us to love the brethren,
He does not want us to follow the brethren or to mimic the brethren.
We know that we have passed from death unto life,
because we love the brethren.
He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 1 John 3:14
In the bible, during Jesus’ ministry, He never said the same exact thing to anyone, except He did say, follow Me.
His commandments remained the same for all, but even when He spoke them, each person seemed to be working on their own issues.
Each person had different challenges, and while there were some similarities,
each person was different.
Even so are we.
We are all different.
Each person in the Old Testament had a different mission,
a different purpose.
God hasn’t changed.
Each of us has a calling,
a way that God wants to use us in this world to further His kingdom.
He has opened our eyes to realize He is God
and has given us talents and abilities.
Be sure to listen to what He would have you do.
He will make sure you know what He is asking of you,
Ii you are interested in following Him
and you don’t just want to follow the mob.
Jesus cares about us very individually and desires that we really know Him.
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you;
and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice,
and your bones shall flourish like an herb:
and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies. Isaiah 66:13-14
