So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts
forgive not every one his brother their trespasses. Matthew 18:35
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven
forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:25-26
An impossible task
To truly let it go
Remembering what Jesus did for you
And now someone has hurt or offended you
The offense can be big or small
Deep or shallow
But when you let it fester, it becomes ugly
The choice is sometimes difficult
People are careless with what they say, how they treat you
There is no easy answer
I told the Lord I didn’t like him
Forgive him
I still don’t like him
I’m trying to find forgiveness from the bottom of my heart
Not easy to find
Not easy to give
Then I feel guilty for not letting it go, knowing I have done much worse
Still hard
If I picked him some flowers, they’d be tiny ones,
the kind that take hours to make bouquets,
the kind that fall apart when you try to hold them together
That’s where I’ll start
I’ll keep working on it until it’s true and honest and I can see my own sin
I’ll ask the Lord to help me
to help me see the bouquet, maybe they’re forget-me-nots
which symbolize true love and respect
in this instance it is for God,
but if I say I love God and hate the man, I am only a liar
I’ll try and try and try to let it go,
with God’s help, it seems possible although not easy
My failings are so blatant
So pungent
If only I could…
I will
I will do it with the love of God
Amen. You and I will both forgive with the help of God and with the strength He provides. With God, it IS possible to forgive someone who has hurt us deeply in ways we never thought possible. We can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth us.
Yes. He will honor your desires and help you.
