Gems in the Word

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth,
where moth and rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also
. Matthew 6:19-21

Finding those parts of the Word of God that resonate with us,
that almost jump out at us,
those passages that feel like God spoke those just for us,
gems of the word
Pay attention to what God might be teaching you,
showing you, speaking to you as you spend time reading the Bible
No matter where you read, all the words are inspired

Think of something you are really good at,
practicing, spending time on it until it became a part of you
It’s the same way with your relationship with Jesus
and knowledge of the Word and the treasures of Heaven
Your thoughts and dreams and skill in the hidden treasures of the Kingdom
will become strong and solid

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
if thou seekest her as silver,
and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,
and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom:
out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding
. Proverbs 2:3-6

We can always consider the Parable of the Pearl of Great Price
An excellent example of searching for gems:
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man,
seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it
. Matthew 13:45-46

Sometimes it is how we think of things that makes them valuable to us
Our time on Earth is to cultivate the importance of the things of God
Acknowledging His importance
and choosing Him over all we see, feel or desire
