If any man have an ear, let him hear. Revelation 13:9
Jesus said that multiple times in The Book of Revelation.
When we listen, when we tune our ears,
when we are faithful to cut down on the worldly noise
and focus on the spiritual, we can hear God.
Tuning our spiritual senses takes a different kind of work.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,
whereunto thou art also called,
and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12
The work of Jesus. The efforts it takes to learn of Him:
Reading His word, praying, praising, meditating on His word, fasting,
humbling ourselves, putting our flesh to death, carrying the cross,
obeying Him, living for Him and cultivating our relationship with Him.
Some people fit Jesus in when they remember Him
or when it’s convenient to their schedule.
Jesus was speaking plainly here:
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 10:38
Jesus said,
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. Matthew 13:16
Not everyone can see and hear in the spiritual realm.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus is speaking plainly here, too.
Our relationship with Jesus is sometimes a Tug and Pull.
He shows us a little, if we don’t respond, if we turn away, it could be our only chance.
The Tug and Pull can be a battle between our flesh
and the spirit that responds to Him.
The flesh is not interested in any of the things we have to do to follow Him.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing,
but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41
Jesus is the great I Am and He is worthy of our lives.
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Before Abraham was, I Am. John 8:58
He is worthy of all.
