Who are these people and what do they want?
They look only for God’s glory
They have a mission to find His miracles
to search for the worldly riches
or for God to give them their desires,
the marvelous miracles of Christ
It is plain to them the riches of His kingdom are for those who claim them
They spend their energies looking for miracles,
looking for signs and wonders,
insisting the promises of God are for their fulfillment
and to bring joy to others
Jesus Christ is the joy,
the fulfillment,
the complete amazement of the Father’s Love for us.
Jesus walked among the sinners
His miracles were often quiet or without worldly glory
His Kingdom was not of this world
The miracles Jesus performed helped people to become closer to Himself,
to realize the deity of Christ, to proclaim the good news of the gospel
It was not for self gratification, for earning or receiving gifts from God
Learning about Jesus was the gift
Knowing Him more deeply was the quest
Not for riches or materials of this world
The glory seekers are misled and misunderstand the gospel
The good news is that Jesus breaks the chains of bondage
that keep people from knowing who He is
Seeking His miracles is to be misguided
Seeking what He can do for you is not His will
Seek to know Him
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.
He will perform miracles when He chooses
He does want us to ask Him for His perfect will
He does answer prayer and seeks to give us good gifts
Those gifts should not be our focus
Those gifts should not be our concentration
Jesus Himself should be
Gaining a greater knowledge and understanding of Jesus is our reward
Trust Him
Get your focus right
Keep Jesus as the preeminence of all you do
all you search for
Surely your seeking will not be in vain if you look for Him and to Him.
He knows those you care about
Teaching them to seek after Jesus for worldly riches
or worldly glory is not part of the gospel
For your Heavenly Father knows your needs before you ask
He knows the secret desires of your heart
Remember that Jesus is the guide of your life if you have thus chosen
Keeping Him at the center, at the helm
will keep you on the straight and narrow
Do not fall into temptation to desire earthly pleasures or to seek after His glory
Seek Him
Follow Him
Always look to Him
Always desire Him when in question, when in doubt
and you will not be disappointed
