Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not;
and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory
was not arrayed like one of these. Luke 12:27
We worry a lot
We plan and create plans and make efforts to take care of ourselves
We love our comforts and have grown accustomed to our lavish lifestyles, most humans are very rich, compared to the way humans lived long ago
Each of us has more than we need and even if we are the poorest of poor,
we have much more than people used to have centuries, even decades ago
The way we consider suffering is not always suffering at all, but discomfort
Not that I speak in respect of want:
for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:
every where and in all things
I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry,
both to abound and to suffer need. Philippians 4:11-12
The Book of Revelation has given us a warning
that we will not be able to buy or sell,
that is, unless we choose to worship Satan,
that we will be thrust into a place of discomfort,
without many things we are accustomed to
If we go without what we are used to, God will continue to provide for us,
that is, if we trust in Him, there is a good chance
that we will not have all the things we are used to having
God satisfied the Israelites with water from a rock and with meat from heaven
The people asked, and He brought quails,
and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out;
they ran in the dry places like a river. Psalm 105:40-41
We must not demand from God
He will take care of us and provide for us as He sees fit
But my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
