I’m starting a series. This will likely be sporadic while I’m writing it.
As I notice in the Word, when God talks specifically, I am going to spotlight it. It will likely be different each time with the similar theme: God has a lot to say, then numbered.
While the whole Bible is God’s word, it is also amplified to me when He shares His heart, which He does. He shares His reasonings, His thoughts, His feelings and His character. Look for those elements as you read.
You also may consider doing your own study surrounding the scriptures given as I may or may not expound, as I don’t want to decipher God’s words too much. I’m not sure how this series will turn out, but I pray it will be a blessing to you and help you to know God more, which really is our treasure. He is very amazing and worth listening to.
The Old Testament is filled with God’s voice, God sharing His thoughts and reasonings, sometimes through His prophets, other times, directly to the person to whom He is speaking, often His prophets. I say often, if you want to know Who God is, read the Old Testament. Likely, this series will also go into the New Testament as well since Jesus and God are inseparable.
Psalm 50
Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God. v 7
I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before Me. v 8
I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. v 9
For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. v 10
I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.v11
If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof. v 12
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats? v 13
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: v 14
And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me. v 15
But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare Ny statutes, or that thou shouldest take My covenant in thy mouth? v 16
Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest My words behind thee. v 17
When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him,
and hast been partaker with adulterers. v 18
Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. v 19
Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. v 20
These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. v 21
Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. v 22
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. v 23
