If we follow Jesus, we are not our own,
we are being taught and prompted by the Lord nearly constantly.
We are given choices, and usually,
that choice is the way we want to do things
as opposed to what God is asking us.
God asks us to put aside the flesh, our desires, the things we want to do
and to honor Him instead.
It is very difficult, at times, to be obedient to the Lord.
It almost always means putting aside our flesh,
the things we are enjoying,
and doing something else that will benefit our spirit,
our eternal selves, even our destiny or possibly someone else’s destiny.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
