But with thee will I establish My covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
Genesis 6:18, 22
The Bible doesn’t say much about how Noah felt,
although we can somewhat imagine
We know he was obedient
He was obedient against the norm
Against the mainstream
And God was less than happy with the majority of the people alive then
In Genesis 6, the bible says the Earth was filled with violence:
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every imagination
of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. v5
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth,
and it grieved him at his heart. v6
And the Lord said, I will destroy man
whom I have created from the face of the earth;
both man, and beast, and the creeping thing,
and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth Me that I have made them. v7
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. v8
The earth also was corrupt before God,
and the earth was filled with violence. Genesis v11
What an honor that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord
We can only hope for the same
His Ark and the building of his Ark was not secret
It was out there for all to see
For whosoever shall be ashamed of Me and of My words,
of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when He shall come in His own glory,
and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26
Even if he wanted to hide it, that ark was several stories high, 45 feet high,
about the same height as the Hollywood sign in Hollywood, California
Its length was 450 feet and its breadth, 75 feet
The bible does not even subject us to
the mockery of the people while Noah was building the Ark
No doubt they knew about it
but they must not have been concerned about a pending rain storm
Jesus said: But as the days of Noe were,
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:37-39
And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark;
for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Genesis 7:1
God noticed Noah
He was pleased with Noah
Noah stood out to God, he also had a relationship with God
These are the generations of Noah:
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations,
and Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:9
Noah knew God and God knew him
A friend of God, Noah walked with God
A beautiful description
Help us to do the same in this broken world, Lord Jesus
