God is gracious. He extends grace to each of us, even to all the people in the world.
It is up to each one to respond.
If that grace is refused or taken for granted, that will not please God.
It might also mean that what grace we have been given might be taken away.
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance:
but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Matthew 13:12
God will be more gracious to us as we extend the grace we have received to others.
What is grace? The ability and choice to overlook an offense.
The definition of Grace is something like: mercy and pardon.
To me that is the best way to describe grace, both the grace of God
and that same grace we are to have toward others.
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11 WEB
Trying to overlook an offense. That’s a good example of grace.
Not noticing, not pointing out the obvious.
Someone who spills water over you, how do you react?
I was a waitress for a time when I was young.
I was a terrible waitress.
I remember once a man didn’t want any more coffee so he put his hand over his cup. I poured it anyway.
I have had many people be gracious to me when I messed up. They must’ve known Jesus.
I cannot say I always handled such situations well.
That is God’s desire for us. That we be as full of grace as He is, that we love and forgive immediately.
We know the ultimate grace that God gives us was His cleansing blood for our sin.
He covers, forgives us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness with His blood that was shed on Calvary.
Grace that He can help us to attain through His Holy Spirit as we walk in oneness with Him.
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.
In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of His grace; Ephesians 1:6-7
God expects much of us.
Jesus always gives us His good examples to follow in His word and His strength to help us be obedient.
