I saw a lovely, vivid, full rainbow this morning
I had time to watch it
It moved slightly toward the west
Its colors were strong and vibrant
I thought of Pride month,
and how the rainbow is connected to worldly celebrations now in our world
God’s rainbow first appeared in Genesis 9
when God established His covenant with Noah:
And God said, This is the token of the covenant
which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you,
for perpetual generations: I do set my bow in the cloud,
and it shall be for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth.
Genesis 9:12-13
Jesus was also described as having a bow around Him
His appearance was shown to and described by Ezekiel
and also by John in Revelation:
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so was the appearance of the brightness round about.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake. Ezekiel 1:28
And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone:
and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Revelation 4:2-3
So, when you think of the rainbow, consider the beauty of the Lord
and the solidness of His covenant to Noah
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
Luke 17:26
Though the Earth will never again be destroyed by flood,
it will indeed be destroyed again, so listen and obey God like Noah did
The times and seasons are warning us
