Hangin’ out with Jesus?
Isn’t He our Lord and Savior and worthy to be praised
and far above all principalities and powers of darkness and above every other god?
Yes, absolutely.
He created us for His pleasure. (Revelation 4:11)
That means He enjoys our company.
We are supposed to pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
We can’t be on our knees all day and night.
While prayer is of utmost importance, we still have hours and hours to spend with Jesus.
He wants to be included in our every day life.
He wants to be part of all of our decisions.
He wants to be part of all of our conversations.
He wants to be able to prompt us to share the gospel in season and out. (2 Timothy 4:2)
He wants to be a part of our lives and to have a real relationship with each of us.
Whatever you do, do it unto the Lord.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31
Jesus is not our buddy, like a friend you have that you are equal with.
He takes the lead. Like a good Father who teaches you and helps you
while you are growing into the person you are meant to be.
I think of a rock star or some famous person who has children.
Those children like their father. They want to be with him, to spend time with him.
It’s fine that he is famous, but that is not who they are after. They want their father, to be close to him.
When someone is adoring their father that is of little importance to them.
They ignore all that and would like their father whether he was famous or not.
The disciples were in Jesus’ inner circle and He was in theirs.
Where are you in your relationship with Jesus?
