Hatred clouds love.
Hatred can actually stop love, cease its flow.
Hatred is born of sin.
The Bible has harsh words for people who hate:
Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer:
and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 1 John 3:15
God considers haters murderers.
That might surprise some, but, it makes sense since God looks on the heart.
But he that hateth his brother is in darkness,
and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth,
because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:11
That scripture tells us that haters are blind, that they walk in darkness.
I worked with a lady who hated her ex-husband.
We were friends, I thought.
I suggested she let her hatred go and then I prayed for her later.
She clung to her hatred
and gave me all the reasons why she did not want to forgive him.
Our friendship hit a wall.
That is okay.
She refused the truth and I could not change that.
She continued in her hatred, while seeming sweet on the outside.
We see hatred every day.
Some people walk around with hatred and wear it as a badge of honor.
Unless they give that up,
their hatred will be clouding the love that Jesus wants to share with them.
God’s word is clear.
We must follow Him.
We must give up all to follow Him.
We cannot cling to sin, no matter what it is.
If we choose to follow Jesus, He will cleanse us and make us a new creature .
If our heart is truly toward Him, toward the truth, He will help us to get there.
Some things are not easy.
Hatred that we hold onto is putrid to God.
We do not have the ability to see what God sees, the whole picture.
So, our hatred toward people is always out of line.
Jesus is kind and patient and the bottom line,
He will cleanse our hatred if we choose to walk in His ways
and seek Him for the strength to overcome.
Our love for God and our fellow humans cannot flow if we cherish hatred.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar:
for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen,
how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 1 John 4:20
When we put our hand to the plough, we are not to look back.
Jesus will repay people who have harmed us.
He is good for His word. He does not lie.
Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath:
for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19
Additional Scriptures:
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:62
God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man,
that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it?
or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good?
Numbers 23:19
