Having Done all to Stand

Sometimes prayers take a while to get answered.
You know what they say, God’s Timing.
God is working behind the scenes.
He is not as concerned with the surface as we are.
You know the surface, what you feel, see and touch,
the natural circumstances.
God is always looking deeper.
God looks at our heart, so that means, that is His priority.

When the disciples were in the boat and being tossed to and fro
by a tumultuous storm, their words are my words sometimes:
Don’t You care about me?
And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake Him, and say unto Him,
Master, carest Thou not that we perish?
Mark 4:38

The lesson there was: Rest.
Maybe they all should’ve been asleep, resting also,
knowing Jesus was there to take care of them,
to work all things together for their good.
Resting, knowing they were following Him and He would lead them
and guide them for their benefit and their good.
There really was nothing to worry about.
He could calm the sea, if needed, whenever He chose to.

And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm
. Mark 4:39

Once we do our part, we just need to wait.
Wait on God, wait on His timing. Here is the key: wait in faith.
How do you get that faith?
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Rom.10:17
You can’t just invoke faith. It has to be genuine. Real, from God.
Some people that Jesus healed had suffered for many years.
Then, their time came.

Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you while you read, so you really get it,
so you really grasp the lessons in His word, especially faith.
God is His word. It never comes back empty.
It covers everything. Every answer is in the Holy Bible… somewhere.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:13

Stand in all that Christ has given you and in all that you have participated.
After you have done your part, the waiting comes in, the patience, the faith.

Look at all the times in the Old and New Testaments
where God came through. Does He love you less?
Suffering brings about humility.
Waiting has to also bring about humility.
Remember, God is in charge around here, not the people oppressing you,
not the illnesses, not the flesh, God is in charge. He is working.
He is always working on our behalf
to bring about the change needed in our hearts.
He’s buffing and polishing, but before that,
it might be He is smashing us and redoing our earthen vessels
or other things that concern us.
It’s hard to know. That’s where trust in Jesus comes in.

Okay, Lord, Your way, however You want to do it.
I’m Your servant, not my own.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Matthew 6:10

Scriptural References:

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance,
or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him:
for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28

So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth:
it shall not return unto Me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11

For it is God which worketh in you
both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13

Arise, and go down to the potter’s house,
and there I will cause thee to hear My words.
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold,
he wrought a work on the wheels.
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter:
so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Jeremiah 18:2-4
