The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;
He will save,
He will rejoice over thee with joy;
He will rest in His love,
He will joy over thee with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
I wonder what it sounds like when God sings over us.
This is the only place in the Bible where it mentions God singing.
It comes from a place of joy in His heart.
While we can sing for worship and joy for Who He is, He has joy over us too and sings over us.
That’s a precious thought.
I’ve never heard of anyone talking about hearing God sing.
I’ve never heard God sing.
I don’t think often about God singing, but wouldn’t it be incredible to hear Him sing His joyful songs?
Something to look forward to. Treasures in heaven.
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee:
and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. Isaiah 62:5
We know God made us for His pleasure.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things,
and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11
Some of us are disappointments, I suppose all of us are disappointments at times, which is why He also came to Earth to dissolve the sin that was between us by His Son who shed His blood for us.
So, now on this topic that sin has been addressed and redemption complete,
we can boldly go before His throne of grace. (see Hebrews 4:16)
For the Lord taketh pleasure in His people:
He will beautify the meek with salvation. Psalm 149:4
He has made a way to remove the separation, to reconcile us to the Father.
And, He likes to be near us and to sing over us. Think deeply about that.
It’s priceless.
We’re cherished.
Our God loves us so much.
