When the Lord reveals sin to you, He has the remedy
He is teaching us always
He is cleansing us as much as we let Him
He is purifying us as He takes over more, as we allow Him to take over more
More of our lives, our time, our attention, our conversation
Some things in our lives have been lurking around for many years
Some, even since childhood
An example of that might be Self-Control
That is considered one of the fruits of the Spirit
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. Proverbs 16:32
There are still many around us who are lacking self-control, self included
The bottom line is that our flesh has to be put to death
so that Jesus can fully reign in our lives
Without that death, we cannot become the spotless bride of Christ
And, that does not mean we are responsible for the remedies
That means we allow Him to cleanse us and purify us
and that we do not ignore or excuse the work He is trying to do in us
We remain mortals, we are not yet transformed
and will never be perfect until He transforms us,
but we must not ignore the Holy Spirit when He reveals things to us
Satan likes to get involved in all things
So, that means, he wants to be involved in the work God is doing in us
Sometimes to bring up past offenses so that we can wallow in them
But the voice spoke again:
“Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.”. Acts 12:15 NLT
This was after Peter saw the vision of what God has cleansed
That goes for sin God has cleansed in our life
Interesting that Peter was the one who told Jesus,
You cannot wash my feet and later, He gave Peter the vision
to extend the understanding of the cleansing of the Lord
Peter saith unto Him, Thou shalt never wash my feet.
Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with Me. John 13:8
It is a joint effort
We allow Jesus to cleanse us and He does the cleansing
If He shows us something, that is so we can commit it to Him,
lay it on the table, bring it before the altar, seek His strength
The Bride of Christ will be perfected in God’s sight,
but it might not ever be in ours
Part of that perfection is love, which covers a multitude of sins,
forgiveness for self and others, mercy, grace,
and treating others as we like to be treated
The perfection we look for may never happen, but as we extend God’s love,
the love in our hearts, that we don’t let grow cold,
that love will be enough to see our brethren, His bride, with perfection
That is the same perfection He sees us with, that is not fleshly,
but covered with the blood of Jesus, the love of His heart toward the saints
