Hidden Idolatry

And Jesus answered and said unto him,
Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God,
and him only shalt thou serve. Luke 4:8

We know about Idolatry in the Old Testament,
the false Gods of Dagon and Ashtoreth, Baal worship

Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Exodus 20:3

Today we have many more gods manifesting
We have the gods of other religions
Any one that professes not that Jesus has come in the flesh,
this is an AntiChrist spirit
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh
is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist,
whereof ye have heard that it should come;
and even now already is it in the world
. 1 John 4:3

We also have the gods of humanism
The soon-coming One World Religion,
where all gods are considered equal
and Jesus is not considered the Only way to the Father
We have the Idolatry of race,
that is those who worship a certain race as more important than another
For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 2:11
We have the gods of materialism
In the church, the Christian Church, we have the Prosperity gospel,
we have those who seek after miracles rather than God,
those who place doctrine above the Lord,
who solidify their precepts as though they are of God
There are many many idolatries in the church
The most prominent being self-righteousness which is just a form of pride
The same pride we saw in the Pharisees
Pride that should be cast down as any other form of pride should be

These idolatries lead us away from Christ and cause division
and strife and are not condoned by the Holy Spirit of God

Blessed are the peacemakers
for they shall be called the children of God
Matthew 5:9
The peacemakers between human and human
but also between human and God
Putting one race above another race is not of God
Putting any earthly tabernacle to anything other than God
is not pleasing to God, no matter how noble it is
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind
let each esteem other better than themselves. Philippians 2:3

To the chief Musician, A Psalm or Song of David.
Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered:
let them also that hate him flee before him
. Psalm 68:1
