I asked Jesus how could someone else take your crown?
It’s a metaphor
It can happen when you rest on your laurels
You’re too sure of yourself and your position in the kingdom
You can get complacent,
lazy in the things of God
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil,
as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8
Satan’s tactics do not change
He lies
He twists God’s words
He tells us how he sees things
He is out to deceive us, to bring us to a place of complacency with God,
being too comfortable in your accomplishments in the Kingdom
Remain humble
It is never what we have done, but what Jesus has done
Pay attention to what He is asking of you, those are unique to each of us,
and it is our responsibility to make sure we are on-track with God
He is a Living God, He gives us our daily bread and the living water
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot:
I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods,
and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched,
and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed,
and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear;
and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Revelation 3:15-19
We have to carry our crosses daily
Every single day
No letting up
Otherwise, we are in danger of letting go of our plough
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough,
and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
Mingling with the world is another device Satan uses
We can be used of God to minister,
but we do not want our garment spotted by the flesh, so be careful with that
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
Make sure you keep the love of the Father in you
And because iniquity shall abound,
the love of many shall wax cold. Matthew 24:12
Another way to lose your crown
I am certain there are many ways to lose your crown
This is just scratching the surface
Keep loving the Lord, loving your neighbor as yourself,
where Jesus said all commandments are wrapped up in those two
Losing your crown can be avoided
It would be your own doing, that is why Jesus said,
Hold fast that no man take your crown
You can hold onto it
by following Jesus very closely
and listening intently to what He is teaching you
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast,
that no man take thy crown. Revelation 3:11
Additional Scriptures:
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:31
Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water
springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:14
And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Luke 9:23
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;
hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Jude 1:23
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:37-40
