Sometimes we want others to tell us what God has said to them about us.
Some call that priest craft. It’s a form of divination when you seek God through someone else. Oftentimes, the people are willing. They like the position of being an intermediator between people and God.
Some pastors like to play that part.
Some other influential persons in our life might like to play that part.
God is our source.
He speaks directly to His sheep when we earnestly seek Him.
But without faith it is impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
One Mediator.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; 1 Timothy 2:5
One. That’s it. Jesus. Nobody else has been given permission by God. That means, by seeking God’s voice from another, even someone you consider a spiritual giant, that is going against what God has set up.
God speaks to us in many different ways.
He knows what we need to hear from Him.
No human knows what we need.
While God may encourage us or even speak to us through humans
from time to time, that does not mean
He wants us to look to them to hear from Him.
He knows best how to teach us.
He knows best how to touch our hearts with His Spirit.
As God said, This is My beloved Son, hear ye Him.
While He yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them:
and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said,
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.
Matthew 17:5
