A lady on Twitter asked how she could get strong in the Lord
There were many answers
The bible has many answers
Most were good answers, or applicable to the faith,
what Jesus taught, what the bible teaches
I didn’t see the armour of God given as an answer
nor did I see fasting,
which is one of the biggest denials of our flesh that strengthens us
The super-spiritual ones said, we don’t have any strength without Christ, while that is true, that He gives us the strength we need,
He also increases our talents if we meet Him and do our best,
Jesus sees our efforts and increases our strength, talents and abilities
The answers to the question: How do I increase my strength in the Lord?
is a loaded question
and there are many answers
The most important thing about your strength in the Lord
is to realize what it means to be strong in the Lord
Strength means that we can do what He asks of us
with the power of His Holy Spirit
to proclaim the gospel,
to love the brethren,
to hate the world,
to forgive,
to cover and love,
to obey the Commandments of the Lord,
to count others better than yourself
And he answering said,
Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength,
and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Luke 10:27
Additional Scriptures:
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith,
wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
And for me, that utterance may be given unto me,
that I may open my mouth boldly,
to make known the mystery of the gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly,
as I ought to speak.
Ephesians 6:10-20
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.
If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
1 John 2:15
For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:
for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:3
