Abraham was God’s friend
He told Abraham of things to come
and Abraham interceded for the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah,
and especially his nephew Lot, with that information
And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom:
but Abraham stood yet before the Lord.
And Abraham drew near, and said,
Wilt Thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city:
wilt Thou also destroy and not spare the place
for the fifty righteous that are therein?
That be far from thee to do after this manner,
to slay the righteous with the wicked:
and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee:
Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city,
then I will spare all the place for their sakes. Genesis 18:22-26
We know they went back and forth. see Genesis 18

and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12
Balaam’s Donkey spoke, then his eyes opened to see the Angel of the Lord
But was rebuked for his iniquity:
the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice
forbad the madness of the prophet. 2 Peter 2:16
Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam,
and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way,
and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head,
and fell flat on his face. Numbers 22:31
Eyes opened to see the mighty armies
And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee,
open his eyes, that he may see.
And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw:
and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire
round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:17
There are many ways to hear from God
Somehow, if we are listening, we will hear,
He knows how to speak to us
