it is really easy to get our minds solid on something, even if it is not the truth.
You have the things you have learned.
You have the way you weigh it against the word, or not.
Maybe you trust a particular bible teacher.
Someone who has given you many good ideas and answers.
Or you trust a person of great influence that says things that make sense to you.
Using human logic to arrive at the truth is a dangerous way to decide what is true and what is not.
The Holy Spirit is and should be our only teacher.
That means, we remain open to Him and His truth as He reflects the Word
and bears witness of Jesus, constantly.
But the Comforter, who is the Holy Ghost whom the Father will send in My name,
He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth:
for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak:
and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
It does matter whether or not we love the truth.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
This is what happens when people do not love the truth:
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,
but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12
God Himself will send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie.
If we do not love the truth, this is promised to us.
it is imperative that we love the truth and always keep His word above our own foolish thoughts.
His word should be bowed down to and exalted in our lives.
Otherwise, we are open to deception.
Be careful when clinging to man’s doctrine.
So many teachers have elaborate ideas of what God’s word says.
They spend hours or even days, months and years trying to figure out the timing of biblical events.
They may or may not be right.
Hold those teachings loosely.
There are many good biblical teachers out there.
This does not mean you should not learn from them.
What it means is the Holy Spirit should always be welcome in that teaching, in your thoughts
so that you can learn from Him, who is the perfect teacher.
He will often have more to add or He will solidify what is Truth to you.
It’s very important to always let Him teach you, even when you are learning from others.
Make sure in your heart and mind that you are checking with the Holy Spirit
and that you are open to them being wrong or mistaken.
Always allow the Holy Spirit to clarify and bring Truth
into what you have accepted as truth in your mortal thinking.
How do you think of such teachings?
Have you elevated them to the same level as the Word of God?
Or have you given them a lesser position in your heart and mind where there is room for the Holy Spirit to bring the Truth to you?
Man’s doctrine is not solid.
The teachings of humans comes without perfection.
Jesus warned us of the leaven of the Pharisees.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and Life.
Keep others’ thoughts out of your adoration that belongs to God and His Word.
Be open to the correction and guidance of the Holy Spirit, even when you are 99.99% sure.
We cannot trust our own hearts and minds
and we need to always be willing to submit to the Lord Jesus and His Word.
If you have been deceived,
you will never know if you have been deceived unless and until you learn the Truth.
Always love the Truth and seek the Truth.
