That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
There are many theologies
Many methods that people have come up with to understand the bible
All roads do not lead to salvation
If you think you have found God and it is on your terms,
you probably are not saved
Following Christ is a very intentional choice,
a very difficult road,
carrying your cross,
looking to do things His way and not your own,
because you realize He is God and apart from Him, you are nothing
No special prayer will work
He sees your heart, so He is looking at your heart
If you said a certain prayer, that is not to say it was wrong
You may very well have given your life to Him at that point
But no human can tell you whether you did or did not,
that is between you and God
When Jesus walked on the earth, His response to each person was different
Each person had to listen to Jesus about entering the kingdom of God
If you think of it like this: people go to Hell of their own choosing
People are sent to Hell because they refuse God and Jesus,
His only begotten Son
Those people who are there or who will be sent there
refused God and His goodness and chose their own way,
whenever it was that He gave them the opportunity
Every word of God is true
You can count on His word
But each person has to come to the place
of believing Jesus is who He says He is
That is where we talk about
working out our salvation with fear and trembling
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed,
not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. Philippians 2:12
The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord and Jesus said:
And fear not them which kill the body,
but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear Him
which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions
That is a very wise statement
because good intentions are not enough for salvation
That is, to save you from your sin,
to cleanse you and to renew your life in Christ, the Messiah
When Jesus was crucified, there were many who wanted Jesus dead
Many who didn’t want to see His miracles, hear His words
Where would your thoughts have fallen?
Would you have been shouting to Crucify Him
or been at the foot of the cross grieving or praying somewhere else?
The thief next to him stuck up for Him when the others were mocking Him
And he said unto Jesus, Lord,
remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
To day shalt thou be with Me in paradise. Luke 23:42-43
If you really want to know if you are saved,
you must find out from Jesus Himself
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. John 14:6
You cannot guess or wonder
You have to know from God
How you get to that point, is between you and God
He is the One you will be standing before on Judgment Day anyway,
so, might as well find out beforehand if you’re on the right track
How do you know you are saved?
The only One who can answer that is God
How do you hear from God?
He has a way of communicating with us
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: John 10:27
He will answer your question,
the important thing is to ask and make sure you listen for the answer
I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after Me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 16:24
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction,
and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
All scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:16
