Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Luke 6:36
You please the Lord Jesus
by using your skills and abilities to help others.
You please Him from way deep down in your heart.
You please Him by ignoring the things of the world.
You please Him by searching for His treasure.
You please Him by using your talents for His glory.
You please the Lord Jesus by spending time with Him.
By always choosing Him over anyone and everyone.
You please Him by giving what is precious to you,
by holding material things loosely.
You please Him by loving Him more than your money.
You please Him by not being entitled.
You please the Lord Jesus by sharing your knowledge of Him,
by not hiding your light under a bushel.
You please the Lord Jesus by sharing His word.
By telling your testimony of what He has done for you.
Sharing His love with others, lending a hand up.
By giving a listening ear.
You please Jesus by sharing even when they can’t pay you back.
You please the Lord Jesus by loving your enemies.
You please Him by forgiving those who have ought against you
and those you have ought against.
By loving those who have done you wrong.
By treating the unlovely like they are important.
By giving others what you have to give.
You please the Lord Jesus by helping those who need help
when it is in your power to do so. Don’t send your neighbor away.
You please Him by helping the least of these.
You please Him by not turning your ear from the poor
who are crying for help.
You please the Lord Jesus by doing His commandments
and forgetting what others think of you.
You can’t pay Jesus back, so don’t even try.
You please Him because you want to please Him,
not because you have to.
Your lists of pleasing Him will end up being long,
if you were to write them down.
The only thing is that by pleasing Him, He does not want us
caught up in keeping records of what we have done,
He wants us to freely give
and with each waking moment,
He wants us to please and bless and love others in His name
forgetting about ourselves as much as is possible.
If you are not sure how to please Him, ask Him to teach you.
The answers are in His word, but they are not always obvious.
That would be very pleasing to Him, to let Him teach you.
God bless each and every one of you as you learn and contemplate
how to best please our Lord and Savior.
