How to Read the Bible:
Read it.
Every single word is a part of God.
His power and His glory are throughout the bible
in both the Old and New Testaments.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God
and the Word was God. John 1:1
There is no one way to read the bible.
The bible says the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.
Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth:
for He shall not speak of Himself;
but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak:
and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13
First, love the truth.
That means that when you read it, do not try to be in charge of it.
Realize that what God says is above what you think, above what any one thinks.
Be humble before His Word.
Do not try to change it or make it mean something else.
Ask Jesus if you do not understand,
but don’t try to make it fit into your mind.
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9
Let God be true and every man a liar.
God does not lie.
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings,
and mightest overcome when thou art judged. Romans 3:4
How can you understand it?
You cannot understand it unless God shows you the spiritual.
Many people try to read the Bible and make their own meanings out of it.
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. Matthew 13:13
Jesus spoke in parables to everyone.
If the disciples did not understand, they asked Jesus and He explained them.
The Pharisees never understood.
This is why the gospel makes no sense to people in the world.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18
God’s word is how you will find the riches and treasures of the Kingdom of God.
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Matthew 13:16
