How to test Prophecies

One who prophecies is not the only one who hears from God.
To follow a person who hears from God is not pleasing to God.
We need to hear from God ourselves
and seek Jesus for our fresh manna, not follow after people.

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification,
and exhortation, and comfort.
He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself;
but he that prophesieth edifieth the church
. 1 Corinthians 14:3-4

That edification is not to elevate any human,
but to encourage us all to seek the Lord and draw closer to Him.

We must test all things according to the Word of God
Test all things; hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21
Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 1 Corinthians 14:29

When you hear a prophetic word, test it by the word.
Who is being elevated? Who is the focus on?
If it is on the speaker who is bringing the word, then stay away.
A true prophet will focus on Jesus
and you will have known God’s voice as true words lead people to Him.
Prophecy in the flesh or by a lying spirit does not lead people to Jesus
and Jesus is not elevated.
The other way to know is when prophecies start coming to pass.
This can take a while sometimes,
but it will happen if they are speaking from the Lord.

I heard a lady recently say, if you want to know more about this subject,
you can find other prophetic words from me in my library.
She wants people to go to her library to learn.
She should be encouraging people to pray and seek God’s word and study it.
To tell people to seek her prophetic words in her library of previous videos
where she has heard from the Lord is elevating herself.
If we participate in elevating her, that is idolatry.
If someone hears from the Lord, okay, but a prophet speaks for God.
They are not the one who determines how important they are,
neither are they the ones who choose the words of God.
If the focus is on the prophet, the focus is wrong. The focus should be on Jesus

Let God arise. Let God be lifted up. Let God be focused on. He is worthy. We are not.
