Humility Before God

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity,
whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15

Many of the people who were touched by Jesus were humble
Except the Pharisees and except for Judas
There were a few more exceptions such as the Sadducees
and those who screamed Crucify Him! Crucify Him!
Oh, and Herod was not humble before Jesus,
Pilate might’ve had a twinge of fear,
but he certainly was not humble before the Lord

The ten lepers were cleansed and only one came back to thank Him,
Where was their humility? Not there.
God honors humility
Humility goes along with the fear of God

But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith,
God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6

Fear God
Humble yourself before Him
Seek to please Him
Give up your foolish ways
Worship Him
Bring others to Him
He is looking for those who trust in Him and not themselves
One who will yield before Him,
Allow Him to direct your steps
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart
and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Demanding a position in Heaven is not going to fly with God
He gives the gift of salvation
It is just that, a gift and should be considered as such
It is not purchased by us nor earned by us
Salvation is a gift
Let us not take that gift for granted
He bought and paid for our sin with His own blood, God’s blood
He deserves utmost respect from us mortals
He is, after all, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:16

Additional Scriptures:

For all those things hath mine hand made,
and all those things have been, saith the Lord :
but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,
and trembleth at my word.
Isaiah 66:2

And as he entered into a certain village,
there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
And they lifted up their voices, and said,
Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw them, he said unto them,
Go shew yourselves unto the priests.
And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed,
turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks:
and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said,
Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luke 17:12-19
