I love the Book of Esther
You see Gods hand working in many ways
God prepared situations and elevated those who served Him above those who hated Him
God was directing the king’s heart
You see courage and valor, submission and crying out to God, trusting Him, knowing His ways,
retribution and godly honor given to those who followed His ways
If anyone ever feels disheartened about whether God repays evil,
you will find examples of God’s vengeance in the book of Esther
You will also find how God goes before His people and prepares the way for His will to be done
We are to worship no human
We are to do what we are put on this earth to do or God will use someone else
The story started with a king whose queen dishonored him
He searched for a new queen, He chose Esther
She was then his favorite
God gave her favor above all
Her uncle was Mordecai who was an elder among the Jews
Haman, the king’s top man, hated Mordecai because he refused to honor Haman
Haman hated Mordecai so much he convinced the king to issue a decree to kill all the Jews
Mordecai was distraught and sat at the king’s gate in ashes and sackcloth, mourning
Esther wanted him to stop but Mordecai refused to be comforted
Esther inquired why he was distraught and Mordecai encouraged her to stand up for their people
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time,
then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place;
but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed:
and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14
Esther called for a fast to the Lord
No Food or water for 3- days and 3-nights to all the Jews in the land
Esther was scared to go before the king because she could be killed without an invitation
The King had compassion and welcomed Esther when she made the effort
Just when Haman was about to tell the king to kill Mordecai and hang him on the gallows,
the king could not sleep and decided to read instead (Who could’ve given him that idea?)
The king read that Mordecai had saved his life but it had gone unnoticed
The King decided to honor Mordecai
Pretty soon, Haman was the one on the gallows that he had made for Mordecai
and the lives of the Jews were all spared
Such an amazing book with drama and most of all, the orchestration of the hand of God for His people
God still works on behalf of those who love Him and He is faithful to perform and fulfill His word
