If something matters to you, it matters to Jesus.
If you consider the intricacies of the world, or focus even more fully on the wonders of creation,
it can make you ask: How can God bother with the small, insignificant things?
He’s got way bigger things to think about.
Thee are those who say, I don’t bother God for the small things.
The small things can interfere with your peace of mind.
Let Jesus help. Let Him be God in your life.
Thinking something is insignificant to God when it matters to you is a thought that should not be.
While He tells us not to worry in the Bible, let Him be the one that tells you that when you bring your request before Him.
He can calm your fears like no one else.
Something insignificant can matter.
It also might be the opportunity for Him to teach you why it doesn’t.
To decide that beforehand is not helpful in your walk with Him.
Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
It can take a while to get there, where you know He cares for you and that you don’t have to be afraid.
It always annoys me when people say, “God says don’t fear X amount of times in the Bible.”
While that is true and there are all sorts of other things that we should do,
we can’t just make ourselves believe something.
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
This is not magic. This is relationship.
As we know and learn more of our Savior, we come to trust that what He says is true,
that He does what He says He’s going to do and He works in our lives to bring us to the point
where we will be in His fulness.
We have our part that He reveals to us in His word. If we are willing, He moves us to perfection in Him.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:48
Perfection in God does not come by our own merit.
Perfection comes from relinquishing more of ourselves and finding our strength and maturity in Him.
I am the vine, ye are the branches:
He that abideth in Me, and I in Him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without Me ye can do nothing. John 15:5
This is one of the most important verses in the Bible.
Without Jesus, we can do nothing. That is without abiding in Jesus. Abide in Him.
Trying to do things on your own can wear you out and send you down the path of pride.
Let things go, so if something bothers you, it bothers Him.
Only He can remedy your afflictions.
Maybe He’ll say: Take your lumps.
One example I can think of is that I was that older brother
who did not want to celebrate about my very best friend. She was an alcoholic for many years.
She had loved the bottle more than God and I had to watch that in her life. Her kids had to watch that.
She didn’t speak to me for several years while she lavished in her vice. I was mad at her for her choices.
When she came back to serving God in her life, she was blessed by God in many ways.
The blessings of God on her life were obvious and she was still sipping and couldn’t let go of that bottle.
I had my opinions. I can say I was not proud of them, but that doesn’t need to be said.
I felt how I felt and I told God about it, like the Prodigal son’s older brother.
God did not reprimand me. He taught me to love her in spite of. That was His message to me.
I was able to do that before she died prematurely.
When we talk to God about things that bother us, no matter how big or how small,
He always has the right words, the best way to teach us.
He does so so that what He tells us reaches way, deep down inside,
where no human can touch.
If it matters to you, it matters to Jesus.
