Solomon lost the fear of God.
He did not make it.
Without the fear of God, you rule your own life.
That cannot be.
Cain lost the fear of God, either that or he never had it in the first place.
Judas did not have the fear of God.
He never found it either.
He killed himself to try to get away from God.
That won’t work either.
Saul lost the fear of God.
David feared God. He revered Him. He lived His life for God.
He messed up and he sought forgiveness carefully because he feared God.
David had no fear of men, even the one who was 7-9 feet tall (depending on which version)
with 6 fingers and 6 toes on each hand and foot.
Esther had the fear of God.
She feared man also, but she feared God more.
She faced the king with courage for her people when he could have easily killed her according to the law.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28
All of those in scripture who stood up for God in the face of man have feared God.
Job who refused to speak against Him.
Jonah who repented and spoke what he did not want to, those words God gave him to speak.
Daniel who without the fear of man was thrown into the lion’s den.
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who refused to bow,
and were tossed into a fiery furnace that should have killed them in the natural world.
You can see the fear of God over and over again.
John the Baptist had his head chopped off because he feared God and not man.
Stephen was stoned to death because he feared God and not man.
If we lose the fear of God, we will lose this battle.
The fear of God is wisdom dwelling deep within us, knowing that God is paying attention.
We can’t slide by.
We can’t call it good if we come to Him and then refuse to revere Him. That won’t last.
Stay humble, remain in fear and reverence of the Lord God Almighty.
Keep your heart in tune with Who God is and with Who Jesus, the Messiah is.
He is God who has power to cast us into Hell.
We cannot demand anything from Him.
Apart from the fear of God, we make ourselves equal with God. That is a most scary place to be.
