If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off:
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish,
and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Matthew 5:30
Jesus often spoke in parables
The disciples often had questions to understand more clearly
We can do the same
Jesus is here to help us understand as well
Keep listening, keep seeking, keep praying
that He will give you wisdom and understanding about His word
Jesus hid the mysteries from those who did not follow Him
Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not;
and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith,
By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand;
and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed;
lest at any time they should see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and should understand with their heart,
and should be converted, and I should heal them. Matthew 13:13-15
They will never understand unless God gives them understanding
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18
Cutting off your hand is not literal
It is symbolical
Your hand is useful and if that hand, metaphorically speaking,
causes one to sin cut off that particular aspect of your life
Here are some examples,
The computer
Watching worldly movies
The Bar
Strip joints
Loving anything at all in the world
Think of ways it is seeping in
Cut them off
The list is endless and it would be humanly impossibly to think of everything, but think this way, cut off those things that cause you to sin,
that lead you astray, whether they be people or other actions or places,
cut them off
