Inside God’s Circle

God has an inner-circle
Who could possibly be inside of that circle?
Those who seek Him with their whole heart
This is not something someone else can tell you how to do
This must be done between you and God, no pretentions

And ye shall seek Me, and find Me,
when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

While God does not show favoritism, He has friends
He has people with whom He shares Himself
I love them that love Me;
and those that seek Me early shall find Me. Proverbs 8:17
While this is about wisdom, this is about God’s wisdom,
what other wisdom could it be speaking of?

There were very few people in the bible God referred to as friends,
but that does not mean He did not have more than those mentioned
It seems every single prophet was a friend to God
God trusted them and shared His heart with them
and He spoke to them about the people
and let them know that He cared for them greatly

King David was a great friend of God
Their friendship is documented in the Psalms
Job became a friend to God during his misery
He may have already been one whom God considered a friend,
but their friendship grew immensely
Job understood God and the depths of His self
Isn’t that true friendship?

Nathan was one who grieved with God, who accepted His feelings
and helped Him to explain them to others who did not understand Him
That is a great attribute of a friend

John the Baptist
who cared absolutely nothing for this world
John the Baptist spoke God’s righteousness on His behalf,
no matter how it would be received
John was an honorable friend to God

All these persons and many more were in God’s inner-circle
When God trusts people, He shares Himself with them
It is a beautiful thing
His heart must be sought like hidden treasure,
treasure that has been buried and dusted off
to be revealed to those whose hearts draw near to Him

God will not cast His pearls before swine
The Pharisees and the Sadducees represented swine
Jesus would not share with them
He kept things hidden from them
They were not in His inner-circle
They didn’t even know what that meant

For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes they have closed;
lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears,
and should understand with their heart,
and should be converted, and I should heal them. Matthew 13:15

To be counted among those in God’s inner-circle,
they must put their relationship with God first
and seek after Him with their whole heart
He will allow Himself to be found by those who do
He knows when someone is seeking Him and they shall not be disappointed
