Considering our Instant Society,
We can’t be that way with God, otherwise we’ll miss it
God is not always instant
In fact, usually not
There is a lot of waiting
He enjoys spending time with us, but the conversation is not casual
It is meaningful
and it often takes time
Sometimes we have to do something
It’s impossible to know what it is, and it is often different each time
God might encourage you to fast or to pray, or both
He might encourage you to sing or read His word
or to spend your time helping others as unto Him,
or something else that might even be out of your comfort zone
There is no telling what it might be
He spoke many different ways all through the bible to the peoples of old
His ways are always firm, but gentle, often filled with mercy and grace
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1
God knows when we are earnestly seeking Him and He will honor that
But without faith it is impossible to please Him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
While God gave the Israelites signs:
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud,
to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire,
to give them light; to go by day and night: Exodus 13:21
Jesus still does that
He still leads us
We just have to be listening and patient and learn to recognize His voice,
which does not always happen in our demand of time
