If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:8
I saw a back and forth on social media.
It was about sin and that if you fear God, you won’t sin.
None of us is without sin, even when we fear God.
We will go to the grave needing Jesus’ redemption,
no matter how much we pray or go to church or help the needy.
Even if we were to sit in a quiet room by ourselves all the time,
we would still have sin.
God knows we battle sin.
Much is written about it in the bible.
Also on your skirts is found the blood of the lives of the poor innocents.
I have not found it by secret search, but plainly on all these things.
Yet you say, ‘Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me.’
Behold, I will plead My case against you,
Because you say, ‘I have not sinned.’ Jeremiah 2:34-35
God sees through the hidden sin. No fooling God.
He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:
but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13 That’s what Adam and Eve did, they hid their sin. That is not going to work.
Fear God and He will have mercy.
If we get an entitled attitude with God, that’s offensive.
We can’t demand mercy.
Here is the answer:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar,
and His word is not in us. 1 John 1:9-10
Let the truth be found in you.
