Is your soul vexed?

Is your soul vexed?

Sometimes it feels that way
This world is difficult to walk in
We must carry our crosses along the narrow road
Up hills and down valleys
With the Lord at the end, keeping our eye on the prize
It seems there are so many obstacles and trials and tribulations
Be of good cheer, Jesus said, I have overcome the world (John 16:33)

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul,
and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him
. 1 Samuel 16:14

When Saul was vexed by the evil spirit,
David played his harp and the evil spirit was quieted:
And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul,
that David took an harp, and played with his hand:
so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

1 Samuel 16:23

Praise music, music unto Jesus can still the wickedness in the world
When you can’t pray, you can cry,
you also can listen to music unto Him that will help join your heart to God,
and bring healing and soothe your soul

The analogy of Saul in this writing is a representation of any evil we endure
Saul had rebelled against the Lord and even he could find comfort,
so those of us who are oppressed by this world’s evil at times
will most likely also be able to find comfort in praise music
as well as the ability to rise above the circumstances to the Heavenly realm

Psalm 100
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us,
and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise:
be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting;
and His truth endureth to all generations.

So, the next time you feel vexed, bothered by the evil in this world,
whether from one person or from the world in general,
Praise the Lord with your song and if you can’t sing, listen until you can
