Jesus used parables.
He liked them.
He also let things happen to teach the disciples and in turn, us.
Such as the feeding of the thousands and falling asleep on the boat.
As we read some of them, they speak to us.
Maybe not at that moment when we read them,
but when we encounter a situation where they might apply.
Learning Jesus’ parables and the situations He encountered,
along with all the incredible things that happened in the Old Testament
will help us to grow in our relationship with Him.
Reading the bible also helps to increase our faith.
The mighty acts of God are documented in the bible throughout.
When we see what He has done for others gives us hope that He will help us.
The more we seek Him, the more we will understand Him.
When we don’t feel loved by God, we can remember
when Jeremiah sunk in the mire and we know God loved Jeremiah.
We will learn how He repays those who are evil.
Such as Haman in the Book of Esther.
We learn how He thinks and all about His character.
We see examples of God’s relationships with others.
And then, we look at our own relationship with Him and realize we have one.
One that is unique and unlike any other one He has had.
Every story is deeper than is seen on the surface.
There are reasons He allows things to happen to each person
and how He communicates with each person who is interested in Him.
He comes through for people, for every one of those who call upon Him.
He loses His patience after some time and He is no pushover.
Having fear of Him is wise because He has all power and authority.
If your eyes are open, you have been allowed to see.
It does not happen to everyone. Some people will never understand.
The more you learn and the more you open up your heart to His word,
the greater the comprehension will be.
Those moments when He brings something alive to you
or reminds you how He worked previously
can help us today in whatever we encounter.
Keep seeking Him with all your heart and He will replenish you
with the reality of His presence and His miracles and His grace.
