If Jesus is not the center, things are off-kilter.
Things are misaligned.
Things are not straight, but crooked.
Jesus ought to be the focus.
Jesus ought to have the preeminence in every thing on Earth and in Heaven.
And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead;
that in all things He might have the preeminence. Colossians 1:18
If we focus on His glory, that is not the same as focusing on Him.
If we focus on the things He has done, that is like worshiping the creation.
Walking around the earth giving the beauty of the Earth the focus
is no different than adoring His miracles of healing
or any other miracle and focusing on that.
Jesus should always be the focus.
God never encouraged us to worship miracles
or be fascinated with what He has done apart from Him.
Some Christians have adopted the idea that we are to look for His miracles.
If we look for Him and seek His face and our relationship with Him,
the miracles will follow.
Trying to conjure up miracles is not focusing on Jesus.
He must be our center, the center of our being, the One Whom we honor.
Our relationship with Him is first and foremost. He is the Lord of all.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14
He is the glory we should seek. Not another glory, not His miracles.
Miracles belong to Him and are done by Him at His will,
but for us to seek them is turning aside from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Excuses, excuses that God visits when we seek healings or signs and wonders.
it may seem so, but the only reason signs and miracles occur is to draw human hearts to His throne,
to recognize that He is Lord of Heaven and Earth and the sea and the dry land.
Miracles occur to bring humans to our Savior
who purchased our lives with His own blood sacrifice.
God in the flesh is the ultimate goal of His time on Earth and His Spirit moving now.
To focus on the things He has done rather than on our relationship with Him
may find us on the other side of this conversation.
Losing the gospel message in amongst the miracles is dangerous. Be careful.
Not every one that saith unto Me,
Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name?
and in Thy name have cast out devils?
and in Thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from Me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-24
