Jesus Came to Seek and to Save that Which was Lost

Jesus is looking for the lost
Just like the 99 and 1 lost sheep parable
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep,
and one of them be gone astray,
doth he not leave the ninety and nine,
and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you,
he rejoiceth more of that sheep,
than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven,
that one of these little ones should perish.
Matthew 18:11-14

Or the prodigal son Luke 15:11-32
The prodigal son took his inheritance
and left his father’s house and spent his inheritance on riotous living:
And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land;
and he began to be in want
.  Luke 15:14
And he arose, and came to his father.
But when he was yet a great way off,
his father saw him, and had compassion,
and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him
. Luke 15:20

Jesus does the same with any of us
who have gone astray after our own lusts
He welcomes us with open arms and is willing to cleanse us
and happily let us back into the fold

He is looking for an opportunity to bless us if there is one there
He will reach out to each of us,
to woo us back into the fold
or to snatch us from the jaws of the enemy
if we are calling out to Him
or even if we are responding to His call

The Enemy would like us to think
that God will reject us while that is not the case
We may need to have a heart to heart with God
and expose what we have been ignoring
or maybe even trying to hide from God
It will go well if our hearts are open to Him
and His correction and guidance

The Lord had compassion on the thief
He saw his heart
He knew that the thief recognized Him as a King
Jesus saw that and thus allowed Him
to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven

But the other answering rebuked him, saying,
Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds:
but this man hath done nothing amiss.
And he said unto Jesus, Lord,
remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Luke 23:40-43

If we remember anything when we are in dire situations,
it would be good to remember that the Lord looks on our hearts
He sees what we’re thinking, what we’ve learned,
how we have already acknowledged some things and
whether or not we are truly repentant
He knows it all
Fear God
Realize His majesty and power
as well as His ability to forgive or not forgive and to cast our souls in Hell

Also, be sure to remember His mercy:
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10
