And were beyond measure astonished, saying,
He hath done all things well:
He maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak. Mark 7:37
If we have given Jesus our lives, that is,
chosen to follow Him through thick and thin,
choosing Him each day, He is working in our lives
We may not always see it or know it or even look for it, but He is working
He is working to bring us to a greater understanding of Himself
He is working so that we can trust Him
He is working to remind us of what He has already done
One of my favorite Psalms is Psalm 136
It tells of the wonderous things that God did and mentions
His steadfast love or His mercy or His faithful love,
depending on the version you read in each verse:
Psalm 136:1, respectively ESV, KJV and NASB
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, For His faithfulness is everlasting.
The Psalm goes on to list the works God performed
when He created the Earth and the Heavens,
when He removed the Israelites from Egypt
so that they would no longer serve Pharaoh,
and instead allow them to serve the Living God, Adonai.
How He allowed them to conquer their enemies in His name
and how He presently redeems us from our enemies
Jesus is always working
Sometimes the Lord allows us to feel His absence
Could be because we have been distracted in our relationship
and sometimes, life is just tough, those trials we experience are often so big,
so loud, so troublesome, that we have to shake the Lord awake
and ask for His help
And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
and they awake Him, and say unto him,
Master, carest thou not that we perish? Mark 4:38
Jesus! Don’t you care?
Of course, He always has everything under control, but our trust waivers,
not His care and covering and love and grace
Don’t lose heart, He hears and He will answer
Nothing is getting by Him
He is aware and He is there for you
