If you confessed your sin to Him, He covered your sin
Cleansed you from all unrighteousness
He has set you free
As far as the east is from the west,
so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12
I sought the Lord, and he heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4
Jesus sings over you, did you know that? Zephaniah 3:17
He is joyful over your returning to Him
If there is ever a breach, that grieves Him
The reconciliation makes Him glad
Luke 15 has both stories of The Prodigal and The Lost Sheep
Just like when he tells of the father’s love and acceptance
of his prodigal son had gone astray and returned
Or when he leaves the 99 sheep to go after the one who was astray
to gather it in His arms, rejoicing
The confession of sin is necessary,
whatever has separated us from God causes a vacant space,
a separation, a barrier between us and God
He accepts our apology when we do offer it
If we fall on our journey,
try again and again and again,
our God is always there with open arms
Remember, he told Peter who asked
‘How many times shall we forgive those who offend us, 7 times?’
Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times:
but, Until seventy times seven. Matthew 18:22
In other words, there is not a number,
We also will be forgiven and remember likewise to forgive
He loves us, we are told that love does not keep a record of wrongs
The problem can be if we try to hide our sin from Him,
justify our sin or refuse to obey Him
or especially if we refuse to forgive others
If you are concerned about any of these, ask Him,
He will help you to sort through things, He is there for us
Paul went into great detail about how his flesh wins
and he tried so hard to not sin against God
but since he was in the world and he was still flesh, it is bound to happen
For the good that I would I do not:
but the evil which I would not, that I do. Romans 7:19
The Pharisees had it all figured out, so they thought
They were convinced that if they just follow the law and do their duties,
they would be accepted by God
While they may have been accepted amongst their fellow law-abiders,
that is not what God is looking for
The law helps us to know right from wrong
but it is impossible to follow the law completely,
which is why Jesus said,
Think not that I am come to destroy the law,
or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17
Jesus said this in the Sermon on the Mount
and He said many things regarding the law
He also said, For I say unto you,
That except your righteousness shall exceed
the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:20
Since Jesus is the fulfillment of the law, then
He would be the only One who can allow us
to exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees
Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12
If you asked for forgiveness, Jesus has accepted your apology
