Jesus in Plain Sight

We can’t see God
The Bible says if any man sees God, He will die
So, anyone who does see God died
If that happened, we will never know
because someone could have died and not told us about it

There are some wicked, evil people I wish would see God
Their day is coming if they do not repent
There are a few encounters gathered from The Bible below
From dreams, visions and encounters with the Lord
He is Majestic and Wonderful
Words cannot describe Him fully and one day, we shall see Him as He is:
Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be:
but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him;
for we shall see him as He is
. 1 John 3:2
Until then, we can hear or read others’ accounts of their experiences

Jacob saw God in a dream:
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth,
and the top of it reached to heaven:
and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
And, behold, the Lord stood above it, and said,
am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac:
the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth,
and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east,
and to the north, and to the south:
and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places
whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land;
for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
Genesis 28:12-15

These men saw a part of God or saw Him in a vision:
Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu,
and seventy of the elders of Israel:
And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under His feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
Exodus 24:9-10

God let Moses see Him from behind:
And he said, Thou canst not see My face:
for there shall no man see Me, and live.
And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by Me,
and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
And it shall come to pass, while My glory passeth by,
that I will put thee in a clift of the rock,
and will cover thee with My hand while I pass by:
And I will take away Mine hand,
and thou shalt see My back parts: but My face shall not be seen.
Exodus 33:20-23

Michaiah saw a Vision of the Lord:
And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the Lord:
I saw the Lord sitting on his throne,
and all the host of heaven standing by Him on His right hand and on His left.
1 Kings 33:19

Isaiah’s Vision of the Lord:
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne,
high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings;
with twain He covered His face, and with twain He covered his feet,
and with twain He did fly.
And one cried unto another, and said,
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts:
the whole earth is full of His glory.
Isaiah 6:1-3

Ezekiel’s Vision of the Lord:
And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads
of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal,
stretched forth over their heads above.
And under the firmament were their wings straight,
the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side,
and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies.
And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings,
like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty,
the voice of speech, as the noise of an host:
when they stood, they let down their wings.
And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads,
when they stood, and had let down their wings.
And above the firmament that was over their heads
was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone:
and upon the likeness of the throne
was the likeness as the appearance of a Man above upon it.
And I saw as the colour of amber,
as the appearance of fire round about within it,
from the appearance of His loins even upward,
and from the appearance of His loins even downward,
I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain,
so was the appearance of the brightness round about.
This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
Ezekiel 1:22-28

Ezekiel saw the Lord yet again
The entire chapter is lovely if you have a chance to read it:
Then I looked, and, behold, in the firmament
that was above the head of the cherubims
there appeared over them as it were a sapphire stone,
as the appearance of the likeness of a throne.
And he spake unto the Man clothed with linen, and said,
Go in between the wheels, even under the cherub,
and fill thine hand with coals of fire from between the cherubims,
and scatter them over the city. And He went in in my sight.
Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house,
when the Man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.
Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub,
and stood over the threshold of the house;
and the house was filled with the cloud,
and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord’s glory.
And the sound of the cherubims’ wings was heard even to the outer court,
as the voice of the Almighty God when He speaketh.
Ezekiel 10:1-5

Daniel’s vision of the Lord:
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked,
and behold a certain Man clothed in linen,
Whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
His body also was like the beryl,
and His face as the appearance of lightning,
and His eyes as lamps of fire,
and His arms and His feet like in colour to polished brass,
and the voice of His words like the voice of a multitude.
Daniel 10:5-6

Stephen saw a vision of the Lord:
But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven,
and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened,
and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
Acts 7:55-56

Paul saw the glorious light of the Lord and it blinded him for 3 days:
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus:
and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him,
Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord?
And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:
it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?
And the Lord said unto him,
Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Acts 9:3-6

John saw Jesus in a Vision. Now, John had known Jesus in the flesh
as He walked on the Earth, but when He was revealed to John as Himself,
not in human form, John did not recognize Jesus the same way:
I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice,
as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:
and, What thou seest, write in a book,
and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia;
unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira,
and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
And I turned to see the voice that spake with me.
And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot,
and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.
His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow;
and His eyes were as a flame of fire;
And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;
and His voice as the sound of many waters.
And He had in His right hand seven stars:
and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword:
and His countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Revelation 1:10-16

Another vision John saw of Jesus:
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse;
and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns;
and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.
And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood:
and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword,
that with it He should smite the nations:
and He shall rule them with a rod of iron:
and He treadeth the winepress
of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:11-16

For the Lord your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God,
a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
Deuteronomy 10:17

The Psalms of David and Job and many more had a revelation of their own,
to see the Lord with their spiritual eyes,
enough of a glimpse which we all are made aware of who follow Him
that gave us that drive to follow Him harder and more fiercely,
more separate from the world
Yes, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords,
the Mighty, the Awesome, and the Terrible God!

Additional Scriptures:
(I know of one more that goes along with this subject. There may be more.
It is not as dramatic nor does it coincide with the others,
but it’s worth mentioning):

It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory.
I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man,
(whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory,
but in mine infirmities.
For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool;
for I will say the truth: but now I forbear,
lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
2 Corinthians 12:1-6
