Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren,
see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:22-23
Loving our fellow humans is the second great commandment
And Jesus answered him,
The first of all the commandments is,
Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
There is none other commandment greater than these. Mark 12:29-31
We cannot avoid loving our brother if we are God’s children
If we have been born of God and He dwells in us,
Jesus will remind us to love our enemies
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
He will nudge us and correct us and plead with us to forgive and love
The enemies can be our brother depending on how we see things
God continues to love us and to remind us to love others
To purify us so we can walk in love
Not wanting to allow us to be polluted by our flesh
For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:24
God purifies us
He expects us to walk in love
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,
nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:13
