I press toward the mark for the prize
of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
Others are going to disappoint you
Keep your eye on the prize
Some will fail you and distract you, turn their back on you,
Keep your eye on the prize
You’ll feel alone at times,
Keep your eye on the prize
Keep your eye on Jesus the Christ, the One who shed His blood for you
Take up that cross, don’t set it down for any one or any thing
Let Him lead you in the way you should go
Give Him your fears and misgivings
Keep your eye on that prize
The saints before you ran the same race with obstacles and distractions
Their examples give us hope that His Holy Spirit
will enable us to run this race, to be victorious in Him
and to complete the tasks He has given us to do
Jesus empowers us when we allow Him to,
when we give our strength to Him
so that He can replace our measly strength, that we might cling to
Once we surrender that strength to Him,
we trust that He will replace it with His strength and victory
The prize sometimes does not seem evident in this world
His ways are not our ways, so surrendering to Him,
and letting the Holy Spirit direct us, lead us, guide us and teach us
that we become one with God’s purpose in our lives
and retain the ability to keep our eyes on the prize
