And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God,
whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30
I’ve been in two separate conversations last night and this morning
on Social Media about demons and fallen angels and Nephilim.
People have built big theories which seem to be leading towards doctrines.
Really?
People want to focus on evil?
They don’t seem to understand that
while some of those things might be interesting,
to focus on them are at the very least distracting
to where God wants us to spend our time.
Furthermore, how is Jesus elevated in this subject?
And the seventy returned again with joy, saying,
Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions,
and over all the power of the enemy:
and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you;
but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:17-20
Where is Jesus in our heart?
This subject falls under the Do not touch the unclean thing.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 2 Corinthians 6:17
That is, when we are giving our time and attention to evil,
we are unable to glorify the Lord.
Jesus is our treasure, our Savior and our Lord.
Our focus on filth and the pits of Hell may be interesting,
but our time studying evil should be very limited.
Even the bible teaches us that we cannot become experts at this
by any way other than the Holy Spirit Who does the work through us.
Jesus remains glorified.
The seven sons of Sciva could not cast out one demon.
The demon said to them, Peter I know and Paul, I know, but who are you?
Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them
to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus,
saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew,
and chief of the priests, which did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said,
Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them,
and overcame them, and prevailed against them,
so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. Acts 10:13-16
Jesus should always have the preeminence.
Always.
Every single moment, lift Him up. He is the One Who does the work,
The demons are subject to HIS name, not ours.
Keeping things in perspective, that He is the Lord
and sometimes chooses to use us to help.
We are helpers.
We do not have any power whatsoever without Him.
We are just branches.
And, without Him, we can do nothing.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him,
the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
John 15:5
This is elementary, but it can take some time and humility to figure it out.
Without Jesus, we can do nothing.
He is the Lord and we are, well, just mere mortals.
Stay attached to the vine.
Allow Him to do what He wants through you.
Keep your focus on Jesus.
Let God be God and be a willing extension of His love and His power.
