Learning to Love the Truth

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak:
and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

It’s not easy
It takes humility
It takes much humility
God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts
So that means, when we encounter something in His word,
we are not to justify it,
change it,
craft it to our own liking
We must accept it
That is, if you want to love the truth

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Put your foolish thoughts aside and let Him be God
Let His word reign in your hearts
Let His word rein your thoughts

Whenever you encounter something in His word you don’t like,
don’t change it
You cannot change God’s word
It was written for a reason with His infinite understanding
Submit your ideas to the Lord
You can even tell Him you think your ideas are better
than what He said or wrote or thinks
Be open for Him to show you why He wrote them, why He thinks that way
Remember He knows everything, we don’t
So for us to usurp our thoughts above His is pride

Sometimes you have to wait for an answer
Sometimes in this world
we may never understand God’s position on something
That is not the point, commit that to Him and accept it,
like it or not and keep following Him, or not

We don’t have to follow Him
I wish I could say I like everything He has put forth in His Word
I don’t
I don’t like that people are going to be in Hell for all eternity
He knows my thoughts on this
Those thoughts are also humbled before Him
Knowing that He is our Creator
and He has His reasons and His purposes for things

There were a few in the Bible who argued with God,
who discussed His decisions with Him,
pleaded with God,
sometimes God even was compelled by their pleas,
such as with Moses:
And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said,
Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people,
which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power,
and with a mighty hand
? Exodus 32:11

But you will never see a servant telling God
what He chooses to do is not His right

If any reject the truth, that is, do not love the truth,
God will send a delusion
The Bible says a strong delusion:
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;
because they received not the love of the truth,
that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie
. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11

This world is full of people who don’t want to submit to God,
who want the Bible to say this or that instead of accepting what it says

I have heard many ignore Jesus’ words
They do not think those words apply to them
There are whole doctrines built
around avoiding these scriptures where Jesus was very clear

One is the Once Saved, Always Saved doctrine

There are multiple times where Jesus told people
they could lose their salvation
People who don’t like these words
either ignore them as though they don’t apply to them,
lie to themselves or have other doctrines that resist these words
Salvation is a gift, not a right
Here are just a few passages where Jesus warned us about our Salvation:

For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15

But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 10:33

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words,
of him shall the Son of man be ashamed,
when he shall come in his own glory,
and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.
Luke 9:26

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance;
seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh,
and put him to an open shame.
Hebrews 6:6

Humble your thoughts before the Lord:
Casting down imaginations,
and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5

Man’s Doctrine has its own take on everything in the bible.

My suggestion to you is to choose to love the Truth and ask Him to teach you the Truth. His word is above all of our thoughts. Keep an attitude of humility before the Lord and allow Him to be God.

Correcting God or His word is not going to work. The Word belongs to God and cannot be changed. People can try, but it will not work.
