I was thinking of an offense
It has been many days since the whole thing happened
I have forgiven
I have prayed for the person
I have let it go with the exception of trying to understand how it happened
I’m still reminded of it when something triggers a memory
Let bygones be bygones, I heard the Holy Spirit say
I may never know what happened behind the scenes
I may never understand
I should not dwell on it or inquire anymore
I should leave the whole thing in the hands of God,
who doeth all things well
He works all things together for our good
He will work this out for good
Perhaps the good is that we are not friends anymore,
and further that we do not know each other anymore
When one does not serve God and is not interested in God, in Christianity,
then, there is little a person like me, who lives and breathes Jesus Christ can have in common with such a person
If someone’s heart is against God,
then it’s just as well there is no communion
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14
If he would never receive Jesus, then it is a good separation
If he will someday change his mind and choose to be open to the Lord,
then I have planted seeds and I can pray that God will water them
and nourish them in other ways besides me,
trusting that He is the true vinedresser
To hold onto someone whose heart is far from the Lord will not work
Let bygones be bygones, whatever they are
There is only so much we can do in our human strength
and even when we are operating with the power of the Holy Ghost,
we are not in control of what another person may choose,
We are not in control of how the Holy Spirit is received by someone else
If we cling to anyone in the world or refuse to let bygones be bygones,
we are wasting our time and maybe God’s time in how He can use us
Letting things distract us from our purpose in God
While this goes somewhat along with forgiveness,
the idea of letting go and moving on is of utmost importance,
truly giving the person, the situation to Jesus,
knowing that He will do whatever is best

And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.
