O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon His name:
make known His deeds among the people. Psalm 105:1
The Psalms are a beautiful and melodic poetic display of God’s word.
Today, I noticed that Psalm 105 is reminding people
of what God did in the past.
It covers quite a bit of time, from when Joseph was sold into slavery,
who suffered until God’s time and purpose for him was revealed,
all the way through the miracles of what God did for the Israelites
to remove them from the land of Egypt.
Their time in the wilderness is spotlighted
and many other things God did to teach them to trust Him.
It also includes some of God’s perspective of why He did what He did.
Psalm 106 continues in the Exodus of God’s people from Egypt.
I know throughout the Psalms, God reminds us of what He has done.
His work is His testimony.
Our individual testimonies are Jesus’ work done in our lives.
Especially declaring what Jesus has done for all humanity
and that He is the Risen Savior.
In Revelation, We are reminded that Jesus’ testimony is powerful.
The gospel and His blood are connected and cannot be separated,
so that is our testimony and foundation in Christ.
The Testimony of Jesus overcomes evil and gives strength in God to the hearer.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb,
and by the word of their testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:11
The word of their testimony of what He has done in fullness.
The Book of Revelation keeps Jesus elevated all the way through.
Jesus has always been.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8
John’s Revelation proclaims Jesus as Lord as the Beginning and the End.
And I fell at his feet to worship him.
And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant,
and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:
worship God:
for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Revelation 19:10
The spirit of prophecy proclaims Jesus as Lord.
If anyone claims to speak as God’s mouthpiece and does not lift Jesus up,
they are not really speaking for God as the scriptures proclaim.
This is a very rich subject.
I think we have just scratched the surface
of what can be learned about Jesus’ testimony and what that really means.
Who bare record of the word of God,
and of the testimony of Jesus Christ,
and of all things that he saw. Revelation 1:2
