Let Your Light So Shine Before All

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
We’ve all heard that song
A city set on a hill cannot be hid, everyone can see it
Letting His light shine in our lives is not for us, it is for God
We bear witness of Him, our Savior
The more flesh we have in our lives, the less light, the less flesh, the more light
He is glorified in our lives, a little or a lot
Sometimes He’s glorified in only small amount
and sometimes we allow Him a greater amount

At times, our lives may have a stable light,
At other times, it feels as if there is no light at all
But others can see even the tiniest flicker or dot of God’s light in us
Just like if you are in a dark hallway and you can only see a small sliver of light, or a speck, the light cannot be hidden
If it’s there, it will be seen

The darkness cannot stand the light
The darkness does not want to be exposed
The darkness and the light cannot dwell together
The darkness does not understand the light
It can not comprehend it

You know like when you are awakened by a bright light after your eyes have been shut and in a darkened room?
It is bothersome
Or when a rock is lifted, which is dark underneath,
there are most often creatures underneath that scatter to avoid the light
The darkness avoids the light
That light might be coming from you
Do not take it personally
If someone chooses to dwell in darkness
and their deeds are exposed by the light,
they may lash out,
they may avoid the light or those that speak the light,
which is also the truth and the life
Pay them no attention
Go about your mission, God’s mission
speaking and exemplifying the Lord Jesus in your life

If anyone chooses to remain in darkness and hates the light,
move on quickly,
shake the dust off your feet,
let them be
It may be with prayer and fasting and supplications as the Lord prompts you
that a person in darkness may come to the Lord
and appreciate the light,
but if not, do not waste your time,
move on and leave them in the hands of the Lord who doeth all things well
